Uploading Photos and Gallery FAQs

You must sign up for a free account with us in order to upload photos. After doing so, you can upload as many photos as you like and update your profile at anytime.

SUBMITTED PHOTOS A member of our staff reviews submitted photos so we can ensure there is no indecent material. Upon approval, your photo(s) will be moved to and available in our online gallery, which is open to the public. In the gallery, users vote on their favorite photos. By submitting your photo(s) to A Dog's Life^TM, you also have the chance to see your photo printed on one of our packaging labels.

Before you submit any photos to A Dog's Life^TM, you will be asked to agree to our copyright waiver:
I acknowledge that and agree that I have the exclusive right and authority to grant this license to use the material I submit to A Dog's Life. I hereby grant to A Dog's Life the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, distribute and display any photographs or other materials submitted by me and to incorporate the photographs or other materials now or at any time in the future, including without limitation, in labels, magazine advertisements, websites and other media or technology. I agree that there are to be no fees, commissions or royalties paid to me for use of the photograph or other materials I submit to A Dog's Life. A Dog's Life is not responsible for lost or damaged photos. Photos will not be returned.

To post a photo to the gallery you must first register for a free account. This account will let you come back at any time to edit your profile and change and update all your photos. Make sure your photo is in JPG format (if you have the knowledge to do so, convert photos to RGB instead of CMYK). Your photo/graphics editing program will have these settings for you. Click on the "Upload Photo" link to follow the instructions to post your photos.

Any photos of dogs are acceptable. You and or other distinguishable people cannot be included in the photograph, (remember, it's all about the dogs)!

(1). You cannot submit copyrighted material.
If you did not take the photo yourself please do not post it to the gallery.

(2). You cannot post pictures of dogs in compromising situations.
Your submission will be discarded if your dog appears in any sort of danger.

(3). Material containing sexual context of any kind is unacceptable

Only good quality photos can make it onto our labels. Color and black and white photos are both acceptable. Save your photo as a ..JPG in RGB image mode (not CMYK). Use the lowest compression (or highest quality) setting possible. High compression will make a smaller file size, but will blur your photo and we won't be able to use it.

In the end make sure your photos have at least 300 dpi and are at least 5.25"(w) X 2.5"(h) - or 1,575(w) x 750(h) pixels, also at 300 dpi. Your file size should be over 1,000K (Kilobytes).

First you will need to log in to with your account (email address and corresponding password). Click on "My Photos." Find the photo you would like to delete and click on the thumbnail. This will bring you to the photo details page where you can click the "delete" option. This will prompt a confirm delete message in which you'll need to approve. After doing so, you're photo will be permanently deleted from the online gallery as well as your profile page. Note that deleting the photo will also delete all the votes you've received for that photo.

There is no secret formula to selecting photos, but we like to think we know a winning photo when we see it. The public's votes are also taken into consideration.

If we choose your photo to be printed on one of our labels, you and your dog will receive three free bags of A Dog's Life^TM treats! And you will also have bragging rights around your neighborhood.

Simply go the gallery login and click the link "forgot password." Enter your email address and you should receive your password in an email. Please attempt to only retrieve passwords for your own account.
